That rare sense of freedom
This one has been a game, perhaps an indulgence, to try to capture this classic experience of cycling in a summer breeze just for the joy of it.
I first drew it freehand as I wanted to avoid any laboured accuracy, I like its gentle wrongness. Over time I moved the girls head and torso a number of times and the background blue evolved as well.
The cropped image, the hidden arm, the unidentified object in the basket all amuse me as well as the strong matrix of angles that balance each other out.
The result leaves us as free as the girl, free to enjoy it all.
